Learn about the sub-status for Inactive devices, system defined sub-status, how to create user defined sub-status, and edit sub-status assigned for inactive devices.
The sub-status feature allows more precisly to categorize the Inactive devices. The Sub Status is a sub category under status assigned to the Inactive devices to identify the reason to be Inactive.
The devices can be marked Inactive by the user, during device swap or device missing.
There are two different types of Sub Status:
a. System Defined: The system defined sub status is integrated into the system, and cannot be assigned, edited or deleted by the user. By default, based on the device model and threshold value there are three system defined sub-statuses.
b. User Defined: The user defined sub status is created by the user and can be edited or deleted by the user with the Device Modify and Device Delete rights.
NOTE:
The Device Sub Status is unique cannot be repeated. You can view the sub-status of each device in Device Profile screen.
Only after creating the sub status you can assign it to the Inactive devices. You can assign the sub status from Device Search, Device Profile or Importing .xml file.
You can create sub status for the inactive device.
To create sub status:

We only support sub status of the devices that are in the Inactive state. You cannot select any other value for the Device Status field in Add Device Sub Status screen.
You cannot edit the sub status created by the system or sub status of the internal type. However, you can only edit the sub status created by the user. To edit the sub status the user must have Device Modify rights.
To edit the sub status:
You can also assign the modified sub status to the Inactive device in the Device Profile screen.
You can view the sub status history in Device Profile > Relocation/Status History tab. However, the sub status of the Inactive device is not assigned to the modified sub status, hence the sub status ID remains same.
You cannot delete the sub status created by the system or sub status of the internal type. However, you can only delete the sub status created by the user. To delete the sub status the user must have Device Delete rights.
To delete the sub status:
You can only change the device status to Inactive by selecting No Sub Status in Device Search or Device Profile screen.
