Learn how to change device agent configuration.
The VHQ Terminal Agent has several configuration parameters with default values, these parameters are included in the VHQ.INI file that is created by the VHQ Terminal Agent when it first initialized.
Some VHQ Terminal Agent parameters are customized for each VHQ customer and these custom parameters are included in a configuration file called “VHQconfig.ini”. This file has to be signed to generate “VHQconfig.ini.p7s” and then a “.TGZ” package has to be created with these two files. Then this package has to be downloaded to the device along with the VHQ Agent package.
The VHQ Agent configuration package should be downloaded before downloading the VHQ Agent package. Once the VHQ Agent is running in the terminal, it will merge the contents of VHQconfig.ini file with the existing VHQ.ini file in the device. When the VHQ Agent configuration package is uploaded to the library in the VHQ GUI, the “Post Install Action” should be set to “Reboot".
The VHQ Agent UI has an option to edit the VHQ Agent parameters. If any of the VHQ Agent parameters are edited through the UI, the device needs to be restarted manually to apply those changes.
