Software Upgrade
The software upgrade feature allows you to upgrade software packages. The aim of the Software Upgrade feature is to assist you in upgrading the packages by suggesting the available upgrades. The system performs Application name and the version comparison and determines the available upgrades for the selected package.
The software upgrade operation can be performed on multiple devices from Device Search screen and single device at Device Profile.
You can assign the software packages to a device or multiple devices. The software assignment feature gives intelligence to download. You can directly assign software packages to devices or to Hierarchy. The feature allows you to schedule Manual or Automatic software downloads to the devices. The software assignment feature allows you to conveniently manage software upgrades.
Software Upgrade at Device Level
The software upgrade feature allows you to upgrade packages for a single device.
To upgrade packages in a single device:
- Select a Device.
- Select Software Upgrade option from the Software dropdown at Device Profile.
- On selecting the option, you can view the list of packages already assigned to the device in Software Upgrade screen.
- Click View to view the applications in the package.
- Click Upgrade to view the upgrades available for the package.
- Choose the package and click Upgrade. You can only upgrade one package at a time. If the associated package is already updated an upgrade will no longer be available. On clicking Upgrade, a message No upgrade available is displayed.
- If you want to edit the parameter values of the selected package, click Next.
- You must select the application from the Select Application dropdown.
- Select the parameter to enter the value.
- Click Upgrade to perform upgrades or Next to view the Parameter Template assignment screen.
- You can select the available parameter templates and set the order by clicking and .
- Click Upgrade to perform upgrades or <<Back to go to the previous screen.
